You spent 2 hours recording your best episode yet. You hit publish. You got 80 downloads in the first week.
Then it disappeared.
That's not a content problem — that's a distribution problem. And it's the single biggest mistake we see founders, educators, and agency owners make with their content.
Here's the thing: one podcast episode contains enough ideas, frameworks, and stories to fuel an entire month of content across LinkedIn, Twitter, email, and short-form video. You just need a system to extract it.
This is exactly what we do at Repurpose Co. And in this post, I'm going to walk you through the exact framework we use.
Step 1: Transcribe and Mine for Gold
The first step is getting your episode into text form. Use a transcription tool (we like Descript or Otter.ai) and read through it with a highlighter mindset.
You're looking for:
- Counterintuitive statements ("Most founders think X, but actually Y")
- Frameworks and processes (any time you say "first... second... third...")
- Specific numbers and results (stats, case studies, before/after)
- Strong opinions (anything you'd argue with someone about)
- Story beats (any time you told an anecdote or example)
A typical 45-minute episode yields 8–12 of these gold nuggets. Each one is the seed of a content piece.
Step 2: Match Each Nugget to a Format
Not every idea works on every platform. Here's how we think about it:
LinkedIn → loves frameworks, counterintuitive takes, and short personal stories. Ideal format: 5-8 line posts with a strong hook and a clear point of view.
Twitter/X → loves hot takes, numbered lists, and threads. The "controversial" angle from your episode becomes a thread opener. The framework becomes a numbered list.
Email newsletter → loves depth and context. Take your strongest idea and write 400–600 words expanding on it. Your subscribers want the full thought, not just the hook.
Short-form video script → pull the 60–90 second story or example from your episode. Write a tight script around it. This becomes your Reel, TikTok, or YouTube Short.
One episode → 4 LinkedIn posts + 2 Twitter threads + 2 newsletter issues + 3 short video scripts = 11 pieces of content.

The biggest mistake in repurposing is sanitizing the content into generic advice. Your podcast worked because you said it in your voice, with your opinions, your stories, your specific framing.
Don't lose that.
When we repurpose content for clients, we spend significant time studying their voice before we write a single word. We listen to how they open sentences. We note the phrases they repeat. We identify their pet theories and recurring references.
The goal isn't content. It's you — at scale.
Step 4: Schedule Across a 30-Day Calendar
Here's how to spread 11+ pieces of content across a month without overwhelming any single channel. (Want to extend this into a full quarter? Read our guide on building a 90-day content calendar.)
- Week 1: 2x LinkedIn posts, 1 Twitter thread, 1 newsletter issue
- Week 2: 2x LinkedIn posts, 1 short video, 1 newsletter issue
- Week 3: 2x LinkedIn posts, 1 Twitter thread, 1 short video
- Week 4: 1 LinkedIn post, 1 short video, 1 newsletter issue (teasing next episode)
30 days. One recording session. Zero creative burnout.
The Real ROI of Repurposing
Here's what this looks like in practice: one of our clients, a B2B SaaS founder with a weekly podcast, was getting ~100 plays per episode. After we built out their content system, they went from 1,400 LinkedIn followers to 4,200 in 90 days — without recording a single additional episode.
The content was always there. It just wasn't reaching people.
Start With One Episode
You don't need to overhaul everything at once. Pick your single best episode — the one you know had great ideas but never got the traction it deserved. Work through the framework above.
If you want us to do it for you, we start with a Strategy & Audit Session where we analyze your existing content and map out exactly what we'd build. It's $497 and most clients get their first repurposed batch within 2 weeks.
If you're a coach or consultant, see our dedicated guide on repurposing content for coaches — it covers a system built specifically around session recordings and frameworks. SaaS founders have their own playbook too — content repurposing for SaaS founders covers how to turn demos, changelogs, and customer calls into a full content calendar.
